Deployments are: extremely fuel-efficient

Something that was brought to my attention today... I have gone over 6 weeks on one tank of gas!  And I promise I have left the house! For someone who at one point would fill up 1-2 times a week commuting to work, that's nuts!  I finally gave in today and filled up when my gas gage hit E for the first time in over a month and a half.  It's crazy to me because it's not like I haven't been driving, I feel like I have been out & about almost every day.  I actually started to worry my gage was broken.  I think I tend to stay closer to home when I'm on my own.  I do admit that I hate to drive and normally my husband drives everywhere. I just never realized how much more and how much further we drive when he is around.
I was quite proud of myself...I felt like I stretched the heck out of that tank of gas.
Just a funny side effect of this deployment.

Haha that was one of the first things I noticed too! I have filled up my car once a month since my husband deployed!

wow... good job!!!i dont think i'd ever be able to pull that off!! lol the longest I've gone without filling up is a month...but lately its been once every two to three weeks! but I will admit I dont go out as often as i did when my husband was home..mostly just to the grocery store or to hang out with my sis.

That's awesome! I am the opposite, when hubby is gone I drive MORE - partly because he hates going anywhere so when he's home we all stay closer to home, but also because I NEED to get out of the house when he is gone, so I won't miss him so much.
Thankfully my hybrid can get me through a couple weeks without filling up. :)

I totally agree! I swear I'm going places, but that tank of gas goes on and on like the Energizer bunny!

Well that's totally going to change when your brother comes for a visit!
